Install on GoDaddy Website Builder

GoDaddy Websites + Marketing does not have a site-wide custom-code setting, but it does let you drop an HTML section onto any page. Add one with the LuluDesk snippet to each page where you want the chat widget.

HTML sections require a paid Websites + Marketing plan. If your site has many pages, start with the ones where visitors actually ask questions: Home, Contact, Pricing, and FAQ.

1

Copy your install snippet

In LuluDesk, open the Widget tab and copy the embed snippet. It contains your install_token:

html
<script src="https://luluclaw.com/widget/v1/YOUR_INSTALL_TOKEN" async></script>
2

Add an HTML section to a page

Open your site in the GoDaddy editor (Edit Website). On the page you want the widget, click Add Section, search for HTML, and choose Embed Custom Code.

Place the section near the bottom of the page — the widget floats in the corner regardless of where the section sits, so it does not need a prominent spot.

3

Paste the snippet

In the section settings on the right, paste the script tag into the Custom Code field:

html
<script src="https://luluclaw.com/widget/v1/YOUR_INSTALL_TOKEN" async></script>

Set the section height to the smallest option — the script renders no visible content of its own, so the section just needs to exist, not take up space.

4

Repeat for your key pages

GoDaddy applies HTML sections per page, so repeat steps 2–3 on each page where the widget should appear. Home, Contact, Pricing, and FAQ cover most visitor questions.

5

Publish and verify

Click Publish, then open your live site in a new tab. Within a few seconds the pink chat button should appear in the bottom-right corner of the pages you added the section to. Click it, confirm the chat opens, and send a test message.

Back in LuluDesk, the Widget tab status flips to Active once the first beacon arrives.

Indexing your GoDaddy content

To let the assistant answer questions about your pages, add your site as a knowledge source in the Sources tab. GoDaddy auto-generates a sitemap at /sitemap.xml — point LuluDesk at it so your pages are picked up on the configured recrawl schedule.

Limitations

  • No site-wide injection. Unlike Squarespace or Webflow, GoDaddy has no single setting that adds a script to every page — the HTML section must be added page by page, and remembered on new pages you create later.
  • Paid plan required. HTML sections are not available on free Websites + Marketing sites.
  • The editor preview does not run custom code. Always verify on the published site.
  • Online Store checkout.GoDaddy's commerce checkout flow does not accept HTML sections, so the widget will not appear there.

Removing the widget

Delete the HTML section from each page where you added it, then republish. The widget stops loading on the next page view.
